QuantBuilt is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or broker. Nothing on this Platform constitutes investment advice. All analytics, model portfolios, and backtests are for informational purposes only. Investments in securities are subject to market risks.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using QuantBuilt ("Platform", "we", "us", or "our") at quantbuilt.in, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and QuantBuilt under the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Contract Act, 1872, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Nature of the Platform — Not Investment Advice
QuantBuilt is a quantitative research and analytics platform. It is NOT a SEBI-registered investment adviser, stockbroker, portfolio manager, or research analyst under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013 or the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014. Nothing on this Platform constitutes: • Investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security • A solicitation or offer to buy or sell any financial instrument • Financial planning or wealth management services • Tax advice or legal advice All tools, scores, backtests, model portfolios, factor models, and analytics are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Investments in securities markets are subject to market risks. Please read all scheme-related documents carefully before investing. You are solely responsible for your investment decisions. QuantBuilt, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any losses arising from your use of information on this Platform.
3. Eligibility
To use QuantBuilt, you must: • Be at least 18 years of age • Be a resident of India or accessing the Platform in compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 • Not be barred from using financial services under any applicable law or regulatory order By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that do not meet these criteria.
4. User Accounts
a) Registration: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are responsible for keeping your account information up to date. b) Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@quantbuilt.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. c) One Account Per User: You may not create multiple accounts. We reserve the right to merge or terminate duplicate accounts. d) Account Termination: We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. e) Account Data: Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be retained.
5. Permitted Use
You may use QuantBuilt solely for lawful, personal, non-commercial research and analytical purposes. You agree not to: • Use the Platform to provide investment advice to third parties for compensation without appropriate SEBI registration • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform using automated tools • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform • Use the Platform to manipulate markets, spread false information, or engage in any activity prohibited under SEBI regulations or the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 • Share your account credentials with others or allow third parties to access the Platform through your account • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content that disrupts the Platform • Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other security measures
6. Data and Market Information
a) Data Sources: Market data on QuantBuilt is sourced from Yahoo Finance (yfinance), NSE/BSE public data, and screener.in. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. b) Data Delays: Market data may be delayed. QuantBuilt does not provide real-time tick data or Level 2 order book data. c) No Warranty on Data: All data, scores, rankings, and analytics are provided "as is". We make no representations about their fitness for any particular investment purpose. d) Backtesting Limitations: Backtested results are hypothetical and do not reflect actual trading. They do not account for all real-world factors including liquidity constraints, impact costs, taxes, and behavioural biases. e) Coverage: The Platform currently covers Nifty 500 stocks, select ETFs, and mutual funds listed on NSE/BSE. Coverage may change without notice.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform including software, algorithms, factor models, UI design, text, graphics, and branding is owned by or licensed to QuantBuilt and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent. You retain ownership of the portfolio data and watchlists you create on the Platform. By using the Platform, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process this data solely to provide the service to you.
8. Subscription and Payments
Core features of QuantBuilt are available free of charge. We reserve the right to modify what is included in the free tier at any time with reasonable notice. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees as displayed on the Pricing page. All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable GST unless stated otherwise. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or where we have materially failed to deliver the subscribed service. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices for existing subscribers.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, QuantBuilt shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, any investment losses, or financial decisions made based on information from the Platform. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is lower. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless QuantBuilt and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your violation of these Terms, your use of the Platform in an unauthorised manner, or your violation of any applicable law including SEBI regulations, PMLA, or FEMA.
11. Regulatory Compliance
QuantBuilt operates as an analytics and research platform. Users who are SEBI-registered entities are responsible for ensuring their use of the Platform complies with their own regulatory obligations. The Platform is intended for use within India. If you access the Platform from outside India, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. We comply with applicable SEBI circulars, RBI guidelines, and Indian data protection laws. We may be required to disclose user information to regulatory authorities upon lawful request.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at legal@quantbuilt.in to attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration shall be Bengaluru, Karnataka, conducted in English by a sole arbitrator mutually agreed upon by the parties. For matters not subject to arbitration, you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, if you breach any provision of these Terms, we are required to do so by law, or we discontinue the Platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall survive.
14. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and QuantBuilt regarding the Platform.
