1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain on your device for a set period). They can be first-party (set by QuantBuilt directly) or third-party (set by external services — we use very few of these).

2. Legal Basis for Using Cookies

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), we rely on the following bases: • Strictly Necessary cookies: Legitimate interest / contractual necessity — essential to deliver the service you have requested and do not require your consent. • Functional and Analytics cookies: Your consent — we ask for your permission before placing these. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings. India does not yet have a specific ePrivacy regulation equivalent to the EU's Cookie Law, but we follow best-practice consent standards in line with the DPDPA's principles of purpose limitation and data minimisation.

3. Cookies We Use

See the table above for a full breakdown by category. In summary: • We do NOT use advertising or tracking cookies • We do NOT share cookie data with ad networks or data brokers • We do NOT use cross-site tracking technologies • Analytics cookies collect only anonymised, aggregated data • All cookies are first-party except where noted

4. Third-Party Cookies

We use a minimal number of third-party services that may set cookies: • Google OAuth: If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set authentication cookies on their domain, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. • GitHub OAuth: Similarly governed by GitHub's Privacy Policy. We do not embed third-party advertising scripts, social media tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs that set persistent cross-site cookies.

5. How to Control Cookies

You have several options: a) Cookie Consent Banner: When you first visit QuantBuilt, a banner lets you accept or decline optional cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the footer. b) Browser Settings: All modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions c) Opt-Out Tools: Browser extensions like uBlock Origin can block analytics scripts. Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using personalised features.

6. Cookie Retention

We retain cookie data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies expire as described in the table above. You can delete all cookies at any time through your browser settings. Deleting cookies will log you out of the Platform and reset your preferences.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, displaying a new consent banner. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact our Grievance Officer at privacy@quantbuilt.in. We will respond within 30 days.
